Creating
The Ceremony
I am delighted that you are considering me as your
Officiant and that we may have the opportunity to get to
know each other. I’d like you to gain a better
understanding of how we create your ceremony.
When we meet, you will know if I am the right person to
guide you on this most important step of your life’s path.
And in turn I will recognize in you your qualities and
uniqueness. In this process, we forge our connection and
shared commitment.
As we begin to know one another, I seek to learn how you
and your partner met, what values you share, why you love
each other. As you reflect on these and other questions, it
is my hope that your heart expands even more to truly
relish the specialness of your relationship. It is from
these heartfelt feelings that we together will form the
ceremony that conveys to your loving guests the essence of
each of you and the synergy of your relationship.
Each couple brings their own personalities and values, and
it is these unique and personal qualities that I
incorporate into the service. At this point, many couples
choose to write their own vows, while others select from
passages that I have suggested to them.
My goal and commitment to you as your interfaith minister
is to distill the elements that make your relationship
meaningful to you and eloquently communicate them for
posterity.
